Devlog #1: Initial Concept
bitCrawler Studios is thrilled to present its project to be developed as part of the "Workshop on Video Game Design and Development" course (CC5408-1) at the University of Chile. In this exciting academic endeavor, our team embarks on creating an innovative game that challenges traditional shooter conventions.
We are developing a single player auto-shooter or "reverse bullet hell" where the player must use different attacks and powers to survive waves of enemies for as long as possible. In this game, players will immerse themselves in the surreal world of an artist battling endlessly against their own creations and the fame that haunts them. As they explore this unique narrative, players will have to survive while encountering challenging gameplay mechanics that blend combat prowess with artistic expression.
The standout feature of this game is its innovative skill activation mechanic. Instead of simple button commands, players will have to activate and utilize abilities by drawing and mixing complex patterns on the screen, adding an element of creativity and manual dexterity to the gaming experience.
You can see a concept of our game above. We hope to have a (very bare bones) demo for the next log, so look forward to that.
This project not only represents our commitment and passion for game creation but also the amazing support provided by our course's teaching staff. We hope to have the opportunity to explore new ideas, learn new skills, and collaborate in bringing this project to life so that we can inspire and entertain players worldwide.
Join us on this exciting journey as we continue to develop and explore the frontiers of game design and development!
