Devlog #2: First Milestone


Hi!, we're bitCrawler Studios, and we're back with another devlog, this time presenting some updates about the game.

Draw your desired skill!

First, let's discuss the game itself. It now features the basic logic of the drawing section implemented on the right side of the screen, enabling users to interact with the innovative aspect of the game for the first time.


Hieronymus Bosch

We've also discussed who the main character will be and what kind of enemies he will have to fight. First, let's talk about our main character: Hieronymus Bosch. After some research and thinking about which famous artist would be the best fit for our game, where you fight your own paintings and fame, we decided on Bosch. While he may not be widely known, his paintings evoke the ambiance we were seeking. He was a Dutch painter born in 1450, and the painting that caught our attention was "The Garden of Earthly Delights," which is now our background image :D. We also discovered that he suffered from schizophrenia during his life, which may have influenced his paintings, adding depth to our game. Finally, we have our first sketch of how he would look as an asset in our game in the next image, also most of the assets we are going be made by a friend,check out his art please.

What's next?

With some logic and ideas already discussed, we planned to begin searching for more assets and integrating them into the game, along with developing basic UI elements such as the start menu, health bar, and points system, as well as implementing the essential basic attack characteristic of the autoshooter genre.

Last but not least, we've also discussed who our candidate for the main enemy will be. Obviously, we're not going to reveal it just yet, but we believe we've left enough clues for players to speculate and discover who it might be. Stay tuned for the next devlog!
